Max Eternity on Destroying Walter Gropius for the Bauhaus's 90th Anniversary

Max Eternity, noted author and publisher of Art Digital Magazine, has written a piece about Chicago’s harebrained Michael Reese Hospital Demolition.

Originating largely from Atlanta, Art Digital magazine is quickly becoming one of the go-to spots for artists and collectors focused on working in digital media.  Art Digital Magazine, not limited in its view solely toward digital arts, has been a supporter of the Gropius in Chicago Coalition for several months.

“A terrible celebration as Gropius masterpiece gets razed in Chicago” is the title of Max Eternity’s piece.  Correctly observing the sad irony between Chicago’s Gropius destruction and the Bauhaus’s worldwide 90th Anniversary celebrations, Eternity writes:

“So with The City of Chicago being one of the most architecturally astute cities known throughout the world for its celebration of art and culture, its abundance of breath-taking buildings and its vast public art collection, what could possibly explain the city’s administrators mindset, including Mayor Daley, arriving at the decision to demolish the Michael Reese Hospital campus”?

Please read the entirety of Max Eternity’s piece on his blog.
